Medior AI Engineer

As a Medior AI Engineer, you'll take end-to-end ownership of complete features and product components. You'll translate business challenges into technical solutions, make independent engineering decisions, and stay involved throughout the entire lifecycle—from design and implementation to deployment and continuous improvement.

You'll be joining a growing company where not everything has been defined yet. That means we're looking for someone who thrives on variety, critically evaluates new technologies, and enjoys helping shape engineering standards and best practices. You won't be expected to have all the answers from day one, but you'll be proactive in finding the right solutions.

What will you do?

• Build AI applications such as LLM tools, copilots, AI agents and custom-built applications.
• Turn prototypes into reliable MVPs and production-ready software.
• Take end-to-end ownership of features or product components.
• Make technical decisions regarding architecture, models, integrations, data and infrastructure.
• Work with modern AI stacks, including models and APIs from OpenAI, Anthropic and Google.
• Help build VitalSail's scalable AI products and reusable components.
• Explore new use cases and translate them into technically feasible, high-value customer solutions.
• Test, evaluate, monitor and continuously improve AI functionality.
• Contribute to discussions around security, privacy, human oversight and responsible AI.
• Help maintain code quality through code reviews and by contributing to engineering standards and best practices.

You won't just be working on isolated experiments or individual tickets. You'll build reliable AI solutions that become part of real business processes.

Who are we looking for?

You:

• Have several years of relevant experience as a Software Engineer, AI Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer or in a similar role.
• Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or a related field, or have demonstrable equivalent knowledge and experience.
• Have strong Python and/or JavaScript skills.
• Have experience designing, building, testing and maintaining professional software.
• Have worked with APIs, databases, version control and modern development environments.
• Use AI tools to accelerate development while being able to critically evaluate generated code and technical decisions independently.
• Think beyond functionality and consider reliability, scalability, performance, security and maintainability.
• Are entrepreneurial, proactive and enjoy working in an environment where you're helping shape the future.
• Work carefully and look beyond the technical solution alone.

You don't have to be an expert in every area. What matters most is that you have a solid software engineering foundation, take ownership of your work and want to continue growing in applied AI.
